87th Street is fired up about getting sidewalks! It is so dangerous walking around on the streets, especially during winter.

I just attended one of these meetings and it's good to see the momentum continuing on this project. I can't wait for the day I can safely walk to the grocery store, a friends house, or to catch a bus.

Thank you Bob & Wife, We know there are others that agree with us, but some are afraid to speak out and / or don't know where to voice there opinions. I fully aggree with you, ALL residents need to be included in any survey.

We are very much against Sidewalks. I was born in Seattle and grew up in Broadview, back in the mid? 1950's the city tried to force sidewalks in, the community stood firm and to this day there still are the same strees that don't have sidewalks. I decided to build my home home in the Greenwood area because of the view and that it had no sidewalks, has a rual feeling, friendly not full of concrete with cracking and buckling sidewalks full of weeds, planting strips fill of weeds. I have to drive to work and with sidewalks in place, cars are parked on the street, making it dangerous to drive down it. Plus there are a WHOLE lot of us that can't afford the added taxes and don't want the liablility of someone falling on that buckled sidewalk and get sued. There are also a number of addition reason I could list, but I hope I have made my point. Thank you

My wife and I just recently found out about this group and it's intentions. We are opposed to the implementation of sidewalks on our street and in our neighborhood. The residents of Greenwood long ago were given the choice by the city of Seattle to have or not have sidewalks. They chose the later and we for one are greatful for that. We appreciate the non-liner structure and character it established for this neighborhood. It is certainly a factor that contributed to our home purchasing.

We sure hope that this group intends to survey ALL the residents of each block before pushing foward with it's own desires.

Please confirm the date of the next meeting. Will it be WEDNESDAY, March 26th or Friday, MARCH 28th? Once confirmed, I can create a flyer to be printed and distributed door to door by volunteers in the neighborhood. Should I email the flyer to someone to upload on to this site?

Thanks,
Kajsa

Good morning!

My husband and I have submitted a request for a sidewalk on the 8700 block of First Avenue NW between 87th and 90th (Greenwood Town Center and Sandel Park).

I would be interested in any projects that would further that end.

We have contacted the neighbors on that block and have the names and phone numbers of about four others. I think the prospect of personally pledging money (as suggested by Shauna Walgren) really kept the response down.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
